South Bay Denim Donations Could Earn You $500
Participants in the "Do Good with Denim" will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $500 worth of school supplies.
GILROY, CA — A South Bay shopping center wants back-to-school shoppers to do their part to promote sustainability, and Gilroy Premium Outlets is sweetening the deal.
The shopping center is collecting denim apparel that would otherwise be headed for the landfill that can be repurposed, and anyone who donates when visiting the property from July 29 to Aug. 2 will be entered in a raffle for the chance to win $500 worth of school supplies.
The “Do Good with Denim” program is the result of a partnership between the outlet and Hope Services, a Silicon Valley nonprofit that provides services to people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

The program aims to support sustainability and make a positive impact on the community.
“Every piece of denim donated can make a difference by staying out of a landfill and given a new life somewhere else,” an outlets spokesperson said in a statement.
