SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Property owners in Santa Clara County have until Thursday night to submit damage reports and help officials calculate figures for seeking state and federal assistance to recover from this week's storm.

The bomb cyclone dumped heavy rain over the Bay Area and fueled wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph in parts of the South Bay, toppling trees and powerlines.

Santa Clara County opened a form to report storm damage Tuesday and will accept submissions through 11:59 p.m. Thursday. The responses will be reviewed by the county Office of Emergency Management, helping the county tally the total damage for potential financial assistance.
