Vehicle Fire Evacuates Los Gatos Safeway Parking Garage: SCC Fire

Fire crews responded at midday to the structure on North Santa Cruz Avenue to billowing smoke and kept the fire isolated to one vehicle.

LOS GATOS, CA — A vehicle fire extinguished in 20 minutes in the Safeway parking garage Thursday afternoon required an evacuation of the structure, the Santa Clara County Fire Department reported.

Fire crews with three engines responded at 12:42 p.m. to North Santa Cruz Avenue and Andrews Street in Los Gatos to billowing smoke coming out of the structure. The fire was isolated to the one vehicle, which was parked, unoccupied and now damaged.

No one was hurt.
