Volunteers Wanted In Los Gatos To Help Preserve Wetland Habitat

Volunteers are needed Friday to help remove an invasive species from the Bear Creek Redwoods Preserve in Los Gatos.

LOS GATOS, CA — Grassroots Ecology, a Palo Alto-based environmental organization, is hosting a volunteer event Friday at Bear Creek Redwoods Preserve in Los Gatos.

The task involves removing French Broom, a weedy shrub and invasive species, using tools. This would help restore the rare wetland habitat, and volunteers will also learn about the preserve’s unique wetland ecosystem.

Volunteers should be able to walk through hilly and wooded terrain, according to the event page. The task is “somewhat physically demanding.”
