JAZZ ON THE PLAZZ GALA

Jazz on the Plazz invites the public to its 2013 Jazz Gala event, a fundraiser for the nonprofit Los Gatos Music & Arts organization, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at the "La Estancia" estate, 18000 Overlook Rd. The nonprofit produces the Jazz on the Plazz and Music in the Park summer concerts and supports arts education programs in the community. The event will feature jazz legend honoree Mary Wilson, a founding member of The Supremes. The party includes cocktails, appetizers and buffet by Talula Bay Catering and live and silent auctions. JAZZ ON THE PLAZZ CONCERT PRESENTS MARY WILSON

Los Gatos Music & Arts Jazz on the Plazz continues its second decade of summer concerts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Town Plaza Park, corner of West Main Street and Santa Cruz Avenue, in downtown Los Gatos. Performing will be Mary Wilson. The free concerts continue through Aug. 28 same time and same location. LOS GATOS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

The Los Gatos Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 24 at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St., to consider conditional-use permit applications for a pilates studio at 656 No. Santa Cruz Ave., suite B and a retail wine and beer shop at 16212 Los Gatos Blvd. and approval to subdivide a parcel at 146 Gemini Court into three lots, demolish two single-family residences, and construct three single-family residences. REUSABLE BAG ORDINANCE COMMUNITY MEETING

The Town of Los Gatos invites the public to attend a reusable bag ordinance meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25 at Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St. The meeting's purpose is to discuss the town's reusable bag ordinance to reduce unnecessary waste, decrease the number of bags going to landfill, reduce litter in local waterways, and save cities money on litter and stormdrain clean up. The ordinance will also help the town meet trash requirements of the regional Municipal Stormwater Permit issued by the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Cities in Santa Clara County who have adopted or implemented a similar ordinance include Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Sunnyvale and the County of Santa Clara.
