LOS GATOS, CA — Tuesday is the last day to vote in California’s primary, and there are high stakes in Los Gatos as voters will determine who advances to the general election in races for county sheriff and district attorney.

Santa Clara County will have a new sheriff for the first time in over 20 years after Laurie Smith decided not to run for re-election after being mired in scandal. Meanwhile, District Attorney Jeff Rosen is seeking a fourth term as the county's top prosecutor.
