3 Things To Do On Labor Day In Malibu, Nearby

MALIBU, CA — Happy Labor Day — a day when most people get the day off, and white pants need to be retired until next spring.

The idea for the Labor Day holiday was created by the labor movement, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (who would have guessed?). The holiday is dedicated to the "social and economic achievements" of workers who contribute to America's strength, prosperity and well-being.

2. A Mountain's Golden Hour Sunset Hike

Hosted by Santa Monica Mountains Fund: "Hike with Ranger Nico to say farewell to the day from Sandstone Peak, the highest point in Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

During this hike, you will learn how the mountains have a relationship with people and influence our choices and daily life.

This is a 3 mile (round trip) strenuous hike. There is a 1,000 foot elevation gain."
