40 MPH Winds May Hit Malibu Friday: NWS

Santa Ana winds up to 40 miles per hour will hit Malibu Friday.

MALIBU, CA — Malibu will see winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour Friday, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service for Los Angeles and Oxnard.

The advisory started at 7 p.m. Thursday and will last through 4 p.m. Friday, during which time motorists are advised to use caution on the roadways. Residents should be particularly careful on canyon roads like Kanan Road, Malibu Canyon Road, Topanga Canyon and Decker Canyon Road, according to NWS.

Residents should also brace for possible power outages and secure outdoor objects, according to NWS.

Malibu and neighboring areas have seen gusty winds throughout the week. Though Malibu has not had a power outage this week, nearby Agoura Hills had a power outage Tuesday after a traffic accident took down power lines.
