Actor Michael Madsen Sentenced For DUI Crash In Malibu

The actor, whose credits include "Kill Bill," "Hateful Eight" and "Reservoir Dogs," was also arrested on suspicion of DUI in Malibu in 2012.

MALIBU, CA — Actor Michael Madsen was sentenced to four days in county jail and five years of probation after he was arrested in connection with a DUI in Malibu earlier this year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Madsen pleaded no contest for misdemeanor driving under the influence after he crashed his SUV into a pole in Malibu in March, the District Attorney's Office press release said. The actor entered his plea to one count of driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense.

Madsen was driving in Malibu on March 24 when his car hit a pole. He was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies when they arrived on scene.

The actor, whose credits include "Kill Bill," "Hateful Eight" and "Reservoir Dogs," was also arrested on suspicion of DUI in Malibu in 2012, TMZ reported.

In the latest case, Madsen's attorney recently told The Blast.com that his client's accident was related to side effects to medication that he was taking under a doctor's care.

"It works better when taken at night before bed, and he took it earlier," the lawyer said. "Modifying the timing of drugs to achieve the greatest benefit with the lowest risk of unpleasant side effects is called drug chronotherapy."
