Breastfeeding Support Group Coming to Malibu
Two local mothers, Romy Rapoport and Sarah Kern, have partnered to bring breastfeeding support to Malibu families through La Leche League (LLL) meetings, starting June 1.
Local moms are bringing a breastfeeding support group to Malibu amidst recent controversy about parenting styles.
Romy Rapoport and Sarah Kern, both long-time Malibu residents, will bring the support group to Malibu families through La Leche League starting at 10 a.m. June 1 at the Malibu Library. The meetings will follow the first Friday of each month.
Mothers will be encouraged to share their questions and concerns about breastfeeding. The recent cover of Time Magazine with a provocative image of a mother nursing her son caused a great deal of chatter about parenting styles around the web.

Rapoport, a 17-year Malibu resident, has been supporting mothers for six years as a childbirth educator, prenatal yoga instructor and lactation specialist. Kern grew up in Malibu and is busy raising her daughter.
