Chuck Becerra on Friday took locals by surprise when he decided to step down as captain of the Lost Hills station.

MALIBU, CA — Salvador "Chuck" Becerra on Friday announced a sudden resignation from his role as captain of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills station, The Acorn reported.

Becerra will move over to the county's Norwalk station — a station in need of a tenured captain after responding to three shootings in the past 30 days. Becerra had been at the Lost Hills station for two years.
