Donations Needed For Juan Cabrillo's Percussion Program
A benefit concert is set for Friday, May 4 at Juan Carbillo Elementary School in Malibu.
Fourth and fifth graders at will hold a special concert Friday to held support a percussion program at the school.
The concert, which will raise funds for the percussion program, is set for 6:30 p.m. May 4 at the school at 30237 Morning View Drive.
The funds will go the Nick Tidy Foundation, which is used to fund the percussion class. The foundation was started by his wife Terah after Nick's untimely death, according to Catharina Plen, a parent at the school.

The classes started by Eddie Marz in 1999 were in need of equipment. Nick also wanted to compensate Eddie, who had been a volunteer teacher. Eddie has taught 4th and 5th grade percussion at Juan Cabrillo for over 10 years. He also started a percussion program for the autistic students four years ago.
The programs could go away if not enough funds are raised to replenish the foundation, Plen said.
