Council Candidates to Meet in Great Malibu Debate
The seven candidates will share their opinions about Malibu issues on Thursday at City Hall in the campaign's first debate or forum.
The 2012 City Council election campaign will kick into high gear on Thursday with the first debate or forum of the contest. The Great Malibu Debate, featuring all seven candidates, will take place in the Zuma Room at City Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by Malibu Patch and Moms-Pod.
Seven candidates are in the race. They are Andy Lyon, Hamish Patterson, Hans Laetz, Joan House, John Sibert, Missy Zeitsoff and Skylar Peak. The top three vote-getters will win seats on the council.
The Great Malibu Debate is open to the public. A video recording of the event will be posted on Malibu Patch.

Election Day is April 10. The last day to register to vote is March 26.
