Several lanes on Pacific Coast Highway were closed for several hours at Tuna Canyon Road in Malibu on Tuesday.

One man was hurt and another killed in a fiery head-on crash that prompted the closure of several lanes on Pacific Coast Highway Tuesday.

Eriber Lopez, 25, of Los Angeles, was driving a Buick Regal south on the coastal route when the car swerved into a northbound Honda Accord at or near Tuna Canyon Road shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, said sheriff's Lt. Matthew Squire of the Malibu/Lost Hills station.

PCH was initially closed across all lanes, but eastbound lanes were opened at 8:30 p.m., according to Davis. Westbound traffic was being diverted up Topanga Canyon Boulevard for an hour.

One lane was open in both directions by 10 p.m., Davis said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helped with traffic control, said Sgt. Don Prince.
