Deputies Issue 121 Citations for Crosswalk Violations in Malibu

The violators were cited during a five hour operation on Pacific Coast Highway in eastern Malibu.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies issued 121 operations during a crosswalk safety enforcement operation Friday in Malibu.

The operation took place over five hours in the 22500 block of Pacific Coast Highway, just down the street from PC Greens, according to Sgt. Philip Brooks of the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

Of the violations, 110 were for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and five were issued for the more dangerous act of passing a stopped vehicle that has yielded to a pedestrian, Brooks said.

Six citations were issued for other violations. The operation was funded by the city of Malibu.
