Expect PCH Closures In Malibu Wednesday and Thursday
Malibu will see closures on the Pacific Coast Highway Wednesday and Thursday for a California Department of Transportation project.

MALIBU, CA — Malibu will see road closures on the state Route 1, Pacific Coast Highway, on Wednesday and Thursday for retaining wall construction.
PCH will be reduced to one lane for alternating traffic from Deer Creek Road to Sycamore Canyon between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The roadway will be narrower and the bike lanes will be blocked. The speed limit on PCH will be reduced for construction as well, according to the city of Malibu.
The closure is part of a California Department of Transportation project to construct a retaining wall to separate the roadway from eroded slope leading to the ocean, according to Caltrans. The $51 million project is expected to be complete by spring 2023, according to the city of Malibu.
