Fatal Crash Still Under Investigation

The investigation continued Sunday into a crash that led to the death of a 43-year-old Los Angeles man on a windy canyon road above Malibu.

Martin Gerardo Zuno was pronounced dead just after 10:30 a.m. July 18 at the 2700 block of Las Flores Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Firefighters were sent to rescue the driver worked to free him from the wreckage, but he was declared dead at the scene after about an hour.

A helicopter also assisted in the rescue.

The California Highway Patrol has not released what caused Zuno to plunge over the side of the road and into the ravine.
