Group Forms Supporting MHS Teacher Accused of Slapping Student
The group, called "MHS Students for Gonzo" already has more than 2,300 members, many of whom wrote that the teacher has a passion for her students.

With the NAACP demanding the removal of a Malibu High School teacher accused of slapping a student as part of a scene out of the movie Bridesmaids, a Facebook group has formed in her defense.
teacher Jennifer Gonzalez allegedly slapped ninth grader Dionne Evans in the face six times when she did not bring her notebook to class, according to reports. Gonzalez reportedly asked Evans if she had seen the movie Bridesmaids before slapping her.
"MHS Students for Gonzo," which already has more than 2,300 members, asks witnesses to come forward and set the record straight and show support to the teacher who has "support all of us in more ways than one."

A description of the group states: "we all know these accusations are false."
One student, who claimed to have witnessed the event, wrote that Evans was laughing and it all seemed to be in fun.

Many other members of the group say they believe there is more to the story and that Gonzales is an inspiring teacher.
The incident is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
