Help Meals on Wheels Give Smiles and Food to the Homebound

For many homebound Malibu residents, a visit from Meals on Wheels West volunteers will be their only human interaction on Thanksgiving.

The following is an edited press release from Meals on Wheels West:

This Thanksgiving, many homebound residents, especially senior citizens, in Malibu and other coastal communities will spend the holiday alone and hungry.

In spirit of the fast approaching holiday season, Meals On Wheels West is looking for help to spread the word about its work to end senior hunger and to find homebound residents in need of a free, hot Thanksgiving dinner.

Meals On Wheels West volunteers do more than just deliver meals. They are dedicated to nourishing and enriching the lives of our clients through their daily companionship. For many homebound seniors, Meals On Wheels volunteers are the only visitors they might see over the holiday.

This year, Meals On Wheels West has the resources to provide meals to even more homebound residents and we would love your help spreading the wordIf you know someone who can benefit from the services provided or would like more information about volunteer opportunities, visit mealsonwheelswest.org.
