Young Woman's Missing Car Found in Woodland Hills

The car of a young woman, who was found dead last month in her parent's Malibu garage, was recovered Wednesday in Woodland Hills, and detectives may have identified the last person to see her alive.
Investigators hope to question Christopher Benton, the son of 's president Andrew K. Benton, in connection with her death. Benton may have been the last person to see Katie Wilkins alive on April 28. He has since checked into a rehab facility.
Wilkins was in her parent's Malibu garage on West Moon Shadows Drive, and most likely died of a heroin overdose. A toxicology test is pending.

Her car was found Wednesday in Woodland Hills, and detectives plan to run forensics on the BMW, according to detectives.
Detectives have uncovered video surveillance showing Benton driving away with Wilkins from a 's restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu hours before she died, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Benton has hired Ronald J. Lewis, a Woodland Hills attorney, and has not spoken with investigators, according to the Times. He is not being considered a suspect.
In a post on LA Weekly's website, Wilkins' brother Steve wrote that he unlocked his sister's phone, which showed plans between Benton and Wilkins on the day of her death.
"He did not provide any details about his txt messages, nor any details about his meeting with Katie at McDonald’s, nor any details about the missing car, nor any details about what transpired between the two of them later on in
the evening of April 27," Steve Wilkins wrote on the website.
A spokesman for Pepperdine told the LA Times that the investigation is being considered a personal matter and not connected to the school.
