1 PCH Lane Reopens After Landslide Monday Morning

MALIBU, CA — One lane of Pacific Coast Highway reopened Monday morning after a landslide shut down the road, according to officials.

All lanes of PCH were closed at Big Rock Drive in Malibu due to an active landslide, city officials said at around 7 a.m. Two hours later, one lane of PCH had reopened and is being used to alternate eastbound and westbound traffic, accordion go to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officials expect traffic to be heavy and warn motorists to seek alternate routes if possible.

Additionally, Topanga Canyon Boulevard remained closed Monday morning between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Drive due to an active landslide. The road was shut down on March 9

School buses to Malibu Middle and High schools and Webster Elementary School were not running Monday morning due to the landslides. Afternoon buses may run, school officials said.
