Layla, Malibu Grad, Activist And Volunteer Heads To Chapman University
T-Mobile and Patch are honoring 2024 graduates.

California — Graduation is a major milestone and deserves to be celebrated! That's why Patch and T-Mobile have teamed up to recognize our community's outstanding 2024 graduates.

Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!
Layla has been active member of the Malibu community. She petitioned for and made multiple speeches to town council to get the skatepark approved. She became a member of town council at 14 through the Harry Barovsky Youth commission. She has volunteered with The Mighty Underdogs throughout high school. She then took her volunteer efforts to South Dakota to work on the Lakota Tribe reservation is South Dakota. She has been on 2 service learning trips to Guatemala helping Mending Kids perform ears, nose and throat surgeries. This is all while being in the surf team, in a competing symphony orchestra playing the violin, working at Sea and Soul in Malibu, and maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Layla is going to Chapman University next year to study biology as a premed student.
