Malibu Beaches Get Mixed Results in Water Quality Report

The beach grades are part of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's Environmental Health Program.

Malibu beaches received a range of grades from "A" to "F" for water quality, according to a report released this week by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

The L.A. County Department of Public Health website says it gives an A through F grade based on the "trend of bacteriological levels at each sampling site over the past 30 days."

According to the department's website, each sampling site is tested for "total coliform, fecal coliform or E. coli and enterococcus bacteria."

The beach grades are part of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's Environmental Health Program.
