Malibu Celebrates Earth Day
With so many events to choose from, we've put together a partial list of Earth Day events for you on Malibu Patch.
Malibu will celebrate Earth Day on Sunday with several events around town, including an eco fair and a beach cleanup.
Here is a partial list of those events for Sunday, April 22:
- The grand opening of the renovated Malibu Library is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature live music, local authors, children’s activities and interactive exhibits. The ceremony is set for 11 a.m. (Read more about the renovation and a photo gallery preview .)
- The is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parking lot.
- Heal the Bay and the City of Malibu are scheduled to hold a clean up at North Surfrider Beach from 9 a.m. to noon at 23500 Pacific Coast Highway. Volunteers are asked to bring a bucket or bag from home. (Learn more at Heal the Bay's website)
- The Malibu Eco Fair is for noon at and will feature booths with information on composting, water quality and conservation.
- 's play area will be recognized by GreenStation as Green Zone certified, meaning the area uses only electric powered equipment, from 1-1:30 p.m.
