Malibu, Got Leftover Medications Laying Around?
Malibu residents can offload their unused or expired medications Thursday morning to keep their homes and the environment safe.

MALIBU, CA — Got leftover medications sitting around the house?
Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Station will collect unused and expired medication Thursday until 11 a.m. at the Malibu Library parking lot, located at 23519 West Civic Center Way.
Dropping medications off at a designated drop-off event is the best way to dispose of excess drugs, according to the Food and Drug Administration

Improper disposal of certain medications can have negative effects on the environment, as some drugs should not be flushed down the toilet for risk of contaminating waterways. Additionally, keeping old medicine around poses a risk of misuse and addiction.
