Malibu High to Host CIF Matches

Four Sharks squads will be in action today and tomorrow in first-round and wild card postseason matches.

It is a postseason party this week at . Four Sharks teams are hosting CIF tournament matches today and tomorrow.

The action begins today at 3 p.m. with the boys soccer team (11-3-2) taking on Wilson (7-7-1) from Hacienda Heights in a wild card game. The winner will face La Cañada (13-5-5) in the first round on Thursday.

Also today, Sharks girls water polo (18-9), which has been two of the past three seasons, will begin its quest for a championship against La Salle (14-12) from Pasadena. The game will begin at 3:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, Malibu's girls soccer team (10-4-4) will host Ontario (8-15-2) in a wild card match at 3 p.m. The winner will travel to Torrance on Friday for a first-round game.

The Sharks boys basketball team (18-7), which went for the first time in school history, will host a first-round game against Sierra Canyon (13-14) of Chatsworth on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Trailblazers are coached by 1997 Malibu High graduate Ryan Silver, who was on the Sharks basketball team and served as student body president.
