MALIBU, CA — The city of Malibu will host its annual Public Safety Expo Saturday to prepare residents for a natural disaster like a wildfire or earthquake.

The event will last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road. Attendees will be able to participate in an earthquake simulator and pick up safety equipment and supplies. Authorities will also teach residents how to use some safety equipment.

“We never know when disaster may strike, so the time to get prepared as individuals and as a community is right now,” Mayor Paul Grisanti said in a news release from the city. “I urge every resident, employee, student or business owner in Malibu to join us for the Public Safety Expo to learn how to make a plan and gather supplies so we can be ready and resilient.”
