Malibu Mayor: 'The People of China Would Love Malibu'
Malibu Mayor Laura Zahn Rosenthal spoke to a Chinese newspaper about her recent trip to Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghi.

Malibu Mayor Laura Zahn Rosenthal recently reflected on her trip to China in an interview with a Chinese newspaper.
“China has these huge cities and obviously Malibu is not a huge city. We do welcome 15 million visitors a year, so we are kind of getting up into one of your larger cities," Rosenthal said in a recorded interview with China Daily.
Rosenthal also shared what makes Malibu special.

"We’re just kind of a small family-oriented place that happens to be known all over the world. I think the people of China would love Malibu," Rosenthal said. "The air is very clean, which is very nice because we are by the ocean."
She praised 's efforts to bring more Chinese students to Malibu.

"I'm a firm believer in international exchange and really making our huge earth, smaller, and smaller, and smaller," Rosenthal said.
