Malibu Remembers Dick Clark

Dick Clark died Wednesday morning at a hospital in Santa Monica from a massive heart attack.

Memories of Dick Clark started pouring out on social media sites across the nation in reaction to his death Wednesday.

Clark, who owns several properties in Malibu, died of a massive heart attack at in Santa Monica on Wednesday morning. He was 82.

Clark was well known for hosting American Bandstand and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

On Malibu Patch's Facebook page, Malibu resident Jo Cherkas wrote of her favorite memory of Clark from the 1990s.

"I got to go to the American Music Awards at the Shrine Auditorium and he was producing it. It was so amazing to watch/hear him in work mode/action during commercial breaks. Total pro! One of a kind. A legend! My condolences to his family and friends," Cherkas said.

One of Clark's Malibu homes went up for sale in March. The whimsical one-bedroom, two-bathroom house was listed for $3.5 million, according to the Huffington Post.

He is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, and has three children from two previous marriages.

There was no immediate word on funeral services.
