Malibu To Offer Rainwater/Greywater Workshop
The workshop will teach residents how to reduce water use and legally reuse greywater.
MALIBU, CA — The City of Malibu and West Basin Municipal Water District are offer a free Rainwater/Greywater Workshop next Wednesday, May 29 at City Hall to teach residents how to reduce their water use. This workshop is part of the Malibu Smart water conservation campaign, the City of Malibu said.
The workshop will demonstrate how homeowners can use rain barrels and larger containers to collect and reuse rainwater from roofs and gutters, retaining water on-site, and reducing the amount of pollutants that flow into storm drains and local waterways, the press release said.
"Every gallon of rainwater that is collected in rain barrels saves one gallon of drinking water that would normally be used for irrigation," the City said. "Capturing rainwater and utilizing greywater for outdoor irrigation will save you money and conserve valuable drinking water."
