Malibu Patch Names New Editor

Jesssica E. Davis will begin work April 10.

Nearly 10 years after I wrote my first article, I am ending my Malibu journalism career. I have been appointed editor of the Patch websites in the Massachusetts cities of Seekonk and Attleboro. As many of you know, my girlfriend Pamela "Pammy" Ross lives in Boston, and we want to begin a new life in which seeing each other doesn't require a plane ticket. My final day at Malibu Patch will be March 13.

I am leaving this website in good hands. Jessica E. Davis, the current editor of Palm Desert Patch, will be taking my place. She will begin work April 10. Davis is an excellent journalist who previously worked as a reporter for City News Service, Southern California's wire service. She also started a blog while living in Asia.

Davis grew up in Anaheim Hills. She received a bachelor's degree in journalism and history from Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash., where she worked as news and online editor of the school newspaper. Davis also hosted a news radio show.

Being editor of Malibu Patch has been a fantastic experience. I have enjoyed seeing the website quickly become the best source of local information due to the work of our staff and because of the support from the community. Malibu Patch is more than a news website, it is a community forum that many residents use to share and their opinions and debate local issues.

I will write more about my Malibu memories before I leave. I will miss this community and its many interesting people, but I am excited about the future.
