Malibu Releases Final Election Results

The order of candidates did not change with Skylar Peak, John Sibert and Joan House winning three seats on the Malibu City Council.

The City of Malibu finalized the results of the City Council election on Friday.

No changes were made in the order of the candidates, and a total of 2,679 votes were cast out of 8,672 eligible voters, for a turnout of 30.89 percent, according to City Clerk Lisa Pope.

Most of the results had been counted by Wednesday, but 22 provisional ballots had to be sent to Los Angeles County to be verified, Pope said.

Skylar Peak came out with the most votes of all candidates with 1,658 votes, followed by John Sibert, the only incumbent to run, with 1,290 and Joan Hosue with 1,146.

Hans Laetz came in fourth with 768 votes. Hamish Patterson came in behind with 748, followed by Andy Lyon with 694 and Missy Zeitsoff with 611.
