MALIBU, CA — Summer is almost over for Malibu public school students. The first day of school in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is Thursday, Aug. 22.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for the 2024-25 school year.
First day of school: Aug. 22
Labor Day: Sept. 2
Local holiday: Oct. 3
Pupil free day — elementary: Nov. 5
Veterans Day: Nov. 11
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 27-29
Winter break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3
Pupil free day — secondary: Jan. 6
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Jan. 20
Presidents Day: Feb. 17
Cesar Chavez Day: March 31
Spring break: April 7-18
Memorial Day: May 26
Last day of school: June 12
