MALIBU, CA — The city and the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District are asking for community members' input as part of a comprehensive assessment of safety in Malibu schools.

Through April 20, community members are being asked to fill out an online survey about current security conditions, areas of concern and ideas for security enhancements.

You can complete the survey here.

The survey is being conducted as part of a comprehensive study of safety in Malibu schools, initiated by officials last year in response to school shootings. The Malibu City Council created the School Safety Ad Hoc Committee to help guide that work.

The study is being conducted by an outside firm that will identify any concerns in the current school safety environment and recommend possible structural, procedural and training improvements, according to city documents.
