Man Found Dead After Jumping Into Rindge Dam

MALIBU, CA — A man who jumped into the water at Rindge Dam in Malibu Creek State Park was found dead Sunday by county firefighters.

The report was called in about 2:15 p.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Sheryl Flores.

The body was discovered by firefighters about 2:50 p.m., she said.

It's unknown why he jumped into the water.

His identity was withheld pending notification of kin. His age was not immediately known.

Malibu Canyon Road, which had been closed as crews worked to recover the body, was reopened around 7:30 p.m.
