Pedestrian Killed On PCH In Malibu
A pedestrian was struck and killed on PCH, forcing traffic delays during the investigation.

MALIBU, CA — A 23-year-old man was struck by a car and killed Friday on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
Paramedics sent to the 18200 block of Pacific Coast Highway about 5 a.m. pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, whose name and place of residence were not immediately available, was struck by a 2009 Toyota Prius driven by a 62-year-old Calabasas woman, according to the CHP, which reported that the pedestrian was on the right shoulder and for reasons unknown wandered into the car's path.

"Drugs and/or alcohol may be been a factor in this collision, but further investigation is needed to make that determination," according to a CHP statement.
The driver was not arrested and there was no indication that she was suspected of DUI.

Morning rush traffic was backed up in the area following the crash.
