Malibu Hits The Polls
Malibu residents are choosing from among a field of seven candidates to fill three seats on the Malibu City Council.
A steady stream of voters turned out Tuesday for the Malibu City Council election at some polling stations across Malibu.
Seven candidates -- (in ballot order) Hamish Patterson, Skylar Peak, Hans Laetz, Andy Lyon, Joan House, Missy Zeitsoff and John Sibert -- are vying for three spots on the council.
Pamela Conley Ulich is term-limited and Jefferson Wagner did not run for re-election. Only John Sibert is seeking to keep his seat on the Council. ()

In the Moana Room of , voters from Precinct 2 were turning out in good numbers, according to Gail Miley, an election inspector.
"It's been fairly steady. We have a lot of people who have voted by mail," Miley said at noon.

Dave O'Rourke, who voted at Duke's, told Patch that he came out to support Skylar Peak, his friend.
"I liked the preservation [ideas] and some of the views of the candidates," O'Rourke said of the lead up to the election.
At , only 35 voters from Precinct 14 had turned out as of noon, according to a volunteer.
