Questions for Council Candidates

Send Malibu Patch questions for the candidates in the 2012 City Council election campaign.

The people of Malibu have lots of questions for the candidates . Malibu Patch has plenty to offer as well. So let's combine our efforts to make the best candidates questionnaire in Malibu!

Send your best question to jonathan.friedman@patch.com by Friday, Feb. 3, and if it is not too outrageous, it will be included in the questionnaire that will be given to the candidates. Their answers will appear on Malibu Patch.

Here are the rules:

1)   You must provide us with your real name and address, so that we can verify you are a real person who lives in Malibu (anywhere in the 90265 is OK). Your name and address will not be released, but we need to know the information.

2)   Only one question per person, so make it a good one.

3)   The question must be about Malibu or be connected to Malibu in some way, a big way (please don't try the "everything is connected" argument). If you are concerned how candidates feel about the war in Afghanistan, you should ask them at the meet-and-greets.

4)   No candidates can submit questions. We are not naïve, and know that candidates could just get other people to ask the questions for them. But at least we're making an effort!

5)   If we receive lots of questions about the same general topic, one question that attempts to encompass all of them will be asked. So, we will not be asking candidates 20 different ways how they feel about .

6)   Questions must be answerable for all candidates. Questions that are specifically addressed to one or a few candidates will not be accepted. If you are looking for an answer to one of those types of questions, let us know, and maybe we'll include it in an interview with the candidate for an article.

7)   The deadline to submit your questions is Friday, Feb. 3.
