Romanian Organized Crime Hits Malibu: Suspects Stole Thousands In Makeup, Deputies Say

Members of a Romanian theft group are wanted in the theft of over $3,500 in makeup from a Malibu store, deputies said.

MALIBU, CA — Two women connected to a Romanian organized crime operation are suspected of stealing thousands worth of cosmetics from Sephora in Malibu in November, deputies said this week.

The Nov. 3 theft occurred when the suspects entered the Sephora store and began concealing items inside a booster skirt, a garment whose loose waistband lends itself to such use, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspects exited the store with the items and entered a black 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, deputies said.
