School District Financial Committee Needs Members

The following is an edited press release from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District:

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District's Financial Oversight Committee has three openings. The district is seeking qualified candidates who will bring a depth of business and/or financial expertise to the committee.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 20. Applications can be mailed to the SMMUSD office (1651 16th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404), faxed to 310-581-1138 or emailed to swahrenbrock@smmusd.org.

FOC meetings are currently scheduled to take place once a month at the SMMUSD office at 7 p.m. in the Testing Room. Following is the schedule of meetings (subject to change) remaining for the 2011-12 year:

• Tuesday, January 17, 2012 (meeting at Webster Elementary library in Malibu)
• Tuesday, February 21, 2012
• Tuesday, March 20, 2012
• Tuesday, April 17, 2012 (meeting at Webster Elementary library in Malibu)
• Tuesday, May 15, 2012
• Tuesday, May 29, 2012
• Thursday, June 7, 2012 (joint meeting with the Board of Education during the regular board meeting)
