Series of Outdoor Movies Kicks off This Weekend in Malibu

The City of Malibu will host CineMalibu, a series of community outdoor movies in the park, starting this weekend.

The first event on Saturday, June 2 will take place at Malibu Bluffs Park with a family picnic theme. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, according to Leanna Parish, Malibu's Recreation Coordinator.

The event will feature a screening of "The Smurfs" at dusk. Prior to the movie at 6 p.m., there will be games, crafts, trivia, West African drumming, and Zumba, among other activities. Vendors include Candylicious, La Dolce Vita, Vital Zuman Farm and Malibu Public Library, according to Parish.

Other CineMalibu outdoor movie events are scheduled on Saturdays, July 28 and August 25.
