Two early Saturday mornings Pacific Coast Highway crashes occurred at each end of Malibu, 20 minutes apart, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. In both incidents, the drivers told authorities they had fallen asleep.
Sgt. Mark Bock said the first incident happened at about 5:20 a.m. in front of the , which is located at 22878 PCH near the . The eastbound traveling vehicle drifted to the right, hitting five parked cars and taking out a few hedges in front of the hotel. There were four passengers in the vehicle, including a child. Nobody suffered serious injuries, Bock said.
The second incident happened at about 5:40 a.m. at the 33000 block of PCH, Bock said. The driver of the westbound traveling vehicle drifted off the road and into a tree. Both the male driver and the female passenger were taken to the hospital for unspecified non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not involved in either incident, Bock said.
