Sprouts:

Babakul, French for hippie, offers contemporary women’s apparel just in time for the summer. The store has a location in Santa Monica, but is opening a store at the Malibu Country Mart June 29.

QT Fitness, a women’s fitness center opens June 29 in Pacific Palisades. The studio offers an intimate, spa-like environment with personalized classes.

Louie’s of Mar Vista, a cajun-influenced restaurant is set to open July 5. The location on Grand View is named after Chef John Atkinson’s grandfather previously owned it in the 1950s when it was a butcher shop.

New York Chef Michael White is opening his first West Coast restaurant in Culver City’s Hayden Tract Platform complex. No word yet on an opening date or a name for the restaurant.

Blaze Pizza is set to open at 4114 Sepulveda Blvd. sometime in August.

Shutter:

Yummy Cupcakes in Santa Monica shuttered its Wilshire Boulevard location.  The owners are looking for a smaller space and will be announcing a new spot soon.
