'Stand With Ukraine': Demonstrators Take To Malibu Pier (Photos)
Around 40 demonstrators on Wednesday voiced their opposition to Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine at the Malibu Pier.

MALIBU, CA — Malibu locals on Wednesday expressed their opposition to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine during a rally at the Malibu Pier.
Protests and rallies have broken out all over California in recent days to show support for the Ukrainian people and call on local and federal authorities to put pressure on Russia.

Around 40 people showed up for the "Stand with Ukraine" rally in Malibu Wednesday afternoon, according to Rick Ray, who attended the rally.
Organizers called on the U.S. government to close the Ukrainian airspace, provide immediate military aid to Ukraine, intensify Russian sanctions and isolate Russia from the rest of the world in "all possible formats," according to the event's Facebook page.

Farther up north, hundreds of San Francisco demonstrators gathered at San Francisco City Hall on Thursday.
"We understand that Ukraine is far away but everyone should care," one of the San Francisco organizers told those assembled on Thursday. "This affects everyone."
