Student Threat To Malibu High School Deemed Not Credible

A threat made by a student on social media prompted an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and SMMUSD officials.

MALIBU, CA — A threat was made on social media against Malibu High School Monday night, however it was not a credible threat, according to the Santa Monica-Malibu School District. The incident is still under investigation Tuesday morning.

In a letter to parents and staff, Malibu High School Principal Dr. Cheli Nye said the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Lost Hills Station "spoke to and assessed the student and determined that this is a non-credible threat."

"We are cooperating with LASD as they continue this investigation today with the student and family," Nye said.
