Summer Adventure Deadline Nearing For Malibu Students
If the program does not get enough enrollment by May 7, it will not be able to run in Malibu.

MALIBU, CA — Summer Adventure, an exciting summer enrichment program for Malibu students entering kindergarten through fifth grade, is scheduled to run from June 19 through July 21, 2017 at Juan Cabrillo Elementary School.
Parents are encouraged to sign up their students as soon as possible to ensure that the programs will run. Summer Adventure needs an average of 45 students per week to run. If the program does not get enough enrollment by May 7, it will not be able to run in Malibu. Summer Adventure teachers need a chance to find other summer employment if it doesn't run, and families need time to find another summer option.
Summer Adventure offers flexibility to Malibu families, where students can enroll for one to five weeks. Each week of full-morning classes showcases a different theme. This year’s themes are: movers, shakers, gizmo makers; nature gone wild; pop culture explosion; lights, camera, action; and, global food frenzy.

Students have the opportunity to enjoy an enriching summer camp experience in a relaxed school setting, where classes are taught by SMMUSD teachers who are excited to share their passion in a specific area with students for a few weeks over the summer.
“Summer Adventure has loved being part of Malibu’s summer offerings for many years. We hope to run again this year, so I hope families are encouraged to sign up by our May 7 deadline,” said Jennifer Smith, SMMPTA Council president. “Of all the summer options out there, Summer Adventure is truly unique because of its affordable price and our own amazing SMMUSD teachers.”
