Thanks for the Memories, Malibu

I am saying good-bye, but you can always contact me.

I had planned to write an epic piece about Malibu and my thoughts on covering the city during the past 10 years for  and Malibu Patch. However, I never got a chance to do it. My final day came too quickly. I have been busy the past couple weeks saying good-bye to all the friends I have made over the years.

So, now, I am sitting here in a pile of clothes and memorabilia from my life, wondering how I am going to stuff it all in my small Nissan while determining how I can sum up 10 years of work in a few words. I can't, so I won't try.

I can tell you this, covering Malibu was never boring. Even when the topic was boring, the people of Malibu made it interesting as only they could. I hope that I returned the favor by providing the best information possible in a fair and balanced way.

I am leaving for the East Coast, but with modern technology, I will never be far away. Always feel free to contact me at jonathan.friedman@patch.com. And be sure to give my successors a fair shake. Jessica Davis will start work at Malibu Patch as the editor next month. Her email is jessica.davis@patch.com. In the interim, the very capable Brantley Watson will be running the show. You can reach him at brantley.watson@patch.com.

Thanks for the memories, Malibu.
