Car Falls Off PCH Into Ocean Near County Line

A witness says a CHP vehicle was pursuing the car traveling at 80 mph to 100 mph before it went off the highway.

Pacific Coast Highway near County Line was closed in both directions for about an hour Tuesday afternoon after a car flew off the highway into the ocean, a witness told Malibu Patch.

The witness, who did not give his name, said a California Highway Patrol car was pursuing the vehicle as it traveled eastbound on PCH at 80 mph to 100 mph during the 4 p.m. hour. The vehicle, which he said was probably a black Dodge sedan, suddenly veered off the highway and into the ocean.

The CHP vehicle, the man said, did not fall off the highway.
