Vehicle Slams Into Pole Near Topanga

One person was taken to UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

A vehicle slammed into a power pole Tuesday on Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 7:42 p.m. Tuesday on westbound PCH at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the CHP reported.

The left lane was briefly blocked, but it was quickly cleared, said. Lt. Jim Royal of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lost Hills/Malibu Station. The right lane remained closed for hours following the incident.

According to a spokeswoman for Southern California Edison, crews were on the scene to handle the damaged pole. However, there was no disruption of service.

The driver was taken to UCLA Medical Center for treatment of injuries, Royal said. The extent of the person's injuries was not immediately available.
