Wildlife Center Helps Malnourished Lion Cubs
The cubs cannot be returned to the wild. They are expected to be sent to a nonprofit conservation group after rehabilitation.

Two mountain lion cubs were found hiding under a vehicle in Burbank Tuesday and were taken to the , located just outside Malibu.
Officers from the Burbank Animal Shelter were called to a vehicle in the 600 block of East Orange Grove Avenue at 10:40 a.m. on reports of the cubs hiding under a vehicle, said Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.
The cubs were badly malnourished and had apparently not been fed by their mother in a few weeks. There were reports that some residents were trying to hit them with brooms, Ryburn said.

A state Department of Fish and Game warden took the cubs to the CWC.
"They are very emaciated," wrote CWC Executive Director Cindy Reyes in an email to Patch. "We are working on getting them stable and beginning the reintroduction of food. Sadly, because of the age of these animals and the many months of rehabilitative care they will need, they are not candidates for release back to the wild due to the potential of habituation."

She continued, "Once stable they will be transferred for permanent placement to an organization in Paso Robles called Zoo to You.
